About Emma
Why do people do what they do? What drives someone? How do we make choices? What matters, and why? And how do we sometimes get in our own way? These kinds of questions have fascinated me all my life. From that interest, I studied psychology, followed by communication. I then worked in marketing, which gave me the opportunity to experience different organizations from the inside.
Over time, I realized that my greatest interest has always been in the person behind the work. What drives someone, what gives them energy, and where things sometimes feel out of sync. After all, career choices are often influenced by more than just the work itself: life stage, circumstances, self-image, and much more. I wanted to work at that intersection of identity, work, and life, and set out to find a form that truly fits me.
In coaching, who I am and what I want to do come together. It offers space to pause with attention and depth around questions that often remain beneath the surface, yet strongly shape how someone approaches their work and life. And like anyone in this profession, I continue to learn. I deepen my craft through training, education, peer consultation, and supervision. I am also affiliated with the Nederlandse Orde van Beroepscoaches (NOBCO) and certified as a Registered Career Professional with Noloc.
About EmmaCoach
EmmaCoach is a coaching practice for professionals and leaders who want to consciously pause and reflect on themselves, their development, and/or their work. In the themes I often work with, you’ll see that connection reflected: personal development, job satisfaction, talent development, work–life rhythm, sustainable employability, and meaning.
It’s a small-scale practice and I say that with pride. Growth is not my primary goal. Fulfilment in my work is. Working with a limited number of coachees at a time allows me to guide people in line with the values that matter to me: personal attention, genuine involvement, and expertise. Because the size of a practice says nothing about its quality. I have completed various professional training programs, I am Noloc-certified, I regularly pursue continuing education, take part in peer consultation and supervision, have a beautiful practice space in Rotterdam, and of course, I have many hours of coaching experience under my belt.
In addition, my combination role—as an L&D advisor in employment and as an independent coach—ensures that all parts of me are nourished. This not only enriches me as a person, but also as a professional. That combination also requires me to stay focused and make choices. Not always easy, but always intentional, with care and from the heart.
Much like the way I coach.

What can you expect?
When you enter into a conversation with me, don’t expect anything vague or woolly—do expect depth. A conversation in which you quickly feel at ease. Where questions can be asked—by me or by you—that may feel exciting, challenging, or even confronting. A conversation that offers space, attention, and stability, making it possible to explore what truly matters beneath the surface. What needs attention? How do you deal with expectations, responsibilities, and change?
For this, we don’t rely on thinking alone, but also on your ability to feel. You’ll get to know yourself better—both in your mind and in your body. This combination gives you deeper insight into how you function, what you need, and which direction suits you. It helps you see more clearly what is yours to do, and to move towards it with a clear mind and trust in your body.
